University Compliance
Political Activity and Advocacy
Utah Tech University encourages faculty and staff to personally engage in the political process and advocate for issues that matter to them. When participating in political activity, be sure to follow the University’s guidance below.
State Compliance
Equal Opportunity Initiatives
In compliance with Utah House Bill 261, Utah Tech is committed to transparency in course content and expectations. The University’s Syllabi Repository provides students and the public with access to course syllabi, required and recommended instructional materials, grading criteria, and key course assignments to support informed decision-making and enhance academic preparedness while respecting faculty intellectual property.

Federal Compliance
Immigration and Customs Enforcement
The Office of Compliance is monitoring the impacts of the Trump administration’s executive orders related to immigration enforcement. If a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agent approaches you on campus, contact the Utah Tech Police Department by calling dispatch at 435-627-4300 or fill out the Contact Police Department form.
Temporary Pause on Federal Grants and Loans
Utah Tech continues to monitor the executive order that has temporarily stopped the disbursement of federal loans and grants. For UT, the order primarily relates to DEI initiatives. As part of our compliance with Utah HB261, we have a process in place to quickly identify which grants may be affected. Direct federal assistance to individuals, such as Pell grants and student loans, are not impacted. Due to previous experience with pauses in federal loan and grant disbursement during changes in administration and federal shutdowns, we are confident we can navigate these changes.
